Our goal for lockout tagout training certification is for our instructors to teach the employees and employers how to lockout their machinery safely in compliance with the OHSA rules and regulations. Lockout Tagout training will teach the compliance and procedures, as well as the importance of the supervisor's role in ensuring compliance, review legal applications and ramifications, OH & SA related fines, penalties.

Lockout tagout also known as (LOTO) will instruct trainees and their employers on the OSHA procedures in controlling hazardous energy sources, and how to effectively control energized equipment in the workplace. All equipment/machinery must have all sources of hazardous energy in LOCKOUT condition whenever there is maintenance work being done.

  • Who is required to be trained in lockout and why?
  • Identifying and listing sources of energy at this location and give an example of each.
  • When is it required to Lockout Machinery?
  • The Importance of the supervisor's role in ensuring compliance.
  • Review in detail your specific policies & procedures.
  • Who must be notified when lockout procedures are to be used?
  • We will do a case study - review an actual case and discuss what could have been done to prevent the accident that occurred in the case study.
  • Learner evaluation / test.
  • Define lockout / tagout

LOTO Course Duration: The classroom theory will require approximately 1.5 hours.
