FALL ARREST TRAINING
The fall and arrest training and the online fall arrest course, will teach trainees when to wear protective equipment and how to properly use it. This fall arrest course will assist the students in properly hooking up a fall arrest safety harness and when to use it, connection to anchor points, the physics involved, as well the responsibilities of the employer, supervisor and the worker. This is a certification course and not an awareness program.
Onsite Classroom Training Review
- Will provide trainees with a general understanding of the safe and efficient use and care of fall arrest equipment.
- Meet your obligations under the Occupational Health and Safety Act & Regulations.
- To insure all trainees are knowledgeable in when and how to use fall arrest protection.
- Will give each trainee the opportunity to use a safety harness and show them how to adjust it correctly to his or her body type.
- Why is fall arrest required?
- We will discuss duties of employer, supervisor and worker
- What are the specific regulations pertaining to when fall protection is required
- Review and discuss falling hazards specific to your situation(s)
- The physics of fall arrest
- Inspecting the harness prior to using it.
- Capacity of fall arrest equipment
- Review environmental concerns
- Proper connection to anchor points
- The donning & fitting a safety harness. Each trainee will be asked demonstrate they know how to use the harness and make the appropriate adjustment for the correct fit
- Proper storage of harnesses
- There will be a classrom test to verify what the students have learned.
Course Duration: The classroom theory will require approximately 1.5 hours.
